Virtual Pilgrimage
Lenten Journey: Drawn to Deeper Waters
Under the guidance of St. Ignatius of Loyola, we will respond to God’s call to repentance as a journey of the heart, rather than as a checklist of accomplishment. By approaching Lent through this lens, we will be drawn to “deeper waters,” so that we might encounter the Passion and Resurrection of Christ in the context of His particular call on our lives and within the embrace of His personal love for us.
Each virtual session will provide a backdrop for the week of personal prayer ahead. Notes and prayer prompts will be shared afterward. Participants are encouraged to reserve some quiet time during the week to reflect on the material and allow God’s love to have a bit of space to operate in their heart.
This pilgrimage is open to all, and is most appropriate for those who wish to enter into a deeper prayer relationship with God by encountering His heart for them through Sacred Scripture and Church Teaching.
Note: The pilgrimage begins the week after Ash Wednesday. However, a reflection sheet will be provided for praying during the week leading up to the first session.
